The past two years have been tough on everyone, but teachers have really needed to adapt to many changes while continuing their noble mission of educating our young people. Here at Greater Area Hazleton Partners In Education, we wanted to show them that their efforts have not gone unnoticed, through a series of teacher appreciation presentations. This idea was the brainchild of Jamie Chicalese, physical education teacher at West Hazleton, who inspired us to act.
Students were encouraged to submit the name of a teacher, and/or vote on a teacher to be honored. Each school facilitated the process on their own. Once a teacher was selected, our Executive Director Cathy Colangelo, visited the teacher in school to present a gift bag with a PIE coffee mug, a gift card and some little goodies to make them smile, along with a ‘Thank You’ note signed by the students.
We would like to thank our business members for their continued support because it is due to their generosity that we are able to execute initiatives like the teacher appreciation presentations.
